Pathology is the precise study and diagnosis of diseases.
Pathology addresses four components of the disease: cause/etiology, mechanisms of development (Pathogenesis), Structural alterations of cells (morphological changes), and the consequences of changes (Clinical manifestations).
Pathology is further separated into divisions, based on either the system being studied (eg. Haematology, Clinical pathology, Biochemical studies, Microbiology, Serology, etc) or the focus of examination (eg forensic pathology and determining the cause of death)
